melting point
The temperature at which a substance in a solid state changes to a liquid state. Its value coincides with that of the freezing point. If we think of pure ice, at 0°C and a pressure of one atmosphere it turns into liquid water. Unlike what happens with the latter, which is able to remain as such at temperatures below the freezing point, in the case of ice, it is not possible to keep it in a solid state if the temperature is above 0°C, since all the extra heat supplied is used for the phase change.
