sea breeze
A wind that blows during the day in coastal areas and their surroundings, from the sea toward land. This breeze is due to the unequal heating of the sea surface (or a lake) compared to dry land. The heat capacity of water is much greater than that of the ground, hence the marine environment is able to absorb incoming solar infrared radiation without its temperature rising much, which does not happen on land. In the morning, as the sun gains height, the air pressed against the ground quickly heats up, and as its density decreases it begins to rise. Its place is taken by cooler air of maritime origin, which sets off the sea breeze. As the hours pass, it gradually increases in intensity, reaching the strongest gusts - of up to 40 km/h - between four and five in the afternoon. From that point on, the breeze slackens, stopping entirely at sunset.
