breeze
The word has several meteorological meanings. On one hand, it is the most common way of referring to a light wind. On the other, it refers to the local wind of a daily cycle and thermal origin, due to the unequal heating or cooling of the Earth's surface. On the coast, the sea breeze alternates during the day with the land breeze at night; in the mountains, the daytime valley breeze (anabatic wind) alternates with the nighttime mountain breeze (katabatic wind). The term also appears on the Beaufort anemometric scale, to name winds between force 2 and 6, accompanied by the qualifiers: "very weak," "weak," "moderate," "fresh," and "strong." In Honduras and Colombia it is a synonym for drizzle.
