albedo
The ratio between the light radiation (usually solar) reflected by a surface and that which strikes it. It is usually expressed as a percentage (%) and allows the reflective power of the surface in question to be known. Albedo mainly depends on three factors: the nature of the reflecting surface, the angle at which the sun's rays strike, and the wavelength of the incident radiation. While the albedo of fresh, recently fallen snow reaches 85%, the percentage drops to 25% in the case of grass, between 10 and 25% on arid soil, to 10% on wet earth, and barely between 5 and 10% for the forest canopy offered by a forest or jungle.
