airglow
This word refers to the faint illumination perceived in the night sky (in dark places, free of light pollution) as a consequence of the emission of light (phosphorescence) caused by certain chemical reactions taking place in the upper atmosphere, when the ionization caused by solar radiation ceases and molecules form after the dissociation into atoms and ions that occurs during daytime hours.
