xenon

A noble gas present in the Earth's atmosphere in a small but significant proportion (0.0000087%). It is colorless, odorless, and has a high molecular weight (atomic number: 54). It is not fully understood how it was incorporated into the atmosphere, although, following research carried out in 2017, it is estimated that just over 20% of it has a cometary origin.
