night chill
The coolness caused by the ambient humidity of clear, calm nights, caused by the loss of heat from the ground through radiation. The sensation of cold increases as the early morning hours progress. Nighttime cooling sometimes even causes the formation of minuscule droplets in the air - resulting from the condensation of the water vapor present in it -, which precipitate. In some places the term is given a slightly different use, referring with it to the intense cold of sunny winter days, or to a light wind that helps increase the feeling of coolness.
