nephelebates

A learned term, first used by the Nicaraguan poet Rubén Darío (1867-1916), that describes a dreamy person, out of touch with reality, of whom it is habitually said that they have their "head in the clouds." It is also applied to anyone who observes clouds for the sheer pleasure of doing so, purely for enjoyment, in many cases photographing them. Given the etymological origin of the term ( Néfele [ Nεφέλη ], from néfos [cloud], and bata, from bates [ βάητς ]), it literally means "the one who walks through the clouds."
