coalescence

In cloud microphysics, this is the process by means of which a drop (or droplet) of liquid water is formed by the aggregation of two or more of them, after they have collided with one another. The collision-coalescence mechanism is one of those giving rise to the formation of cloud droplets and raindrops in the atmosphere.
