weather warning

A message produced by a National Meteorological Service informing of current or forecast meteorological phenomena that may pose a potential risk to people, their activities, and infrastructure, due to their characteristics, the area affected, or the timing of their occurrence. A very intuitive color code is habitually used to identify warnings according to their significance. It is very common to confuse warnings with alerts. The latter are declared by Civil Protection, based on the warnings sent to them by the Meteorological Service.
