trend

A word widely used in Meteorology and Climatology, both in medium and long-term weather forecasts, and in climate forecasts. It is common, for example, to refer to the trend in temperature and/or precipitation. In the graphs used in climate change studies, trends are often established, which help to better visualize the continuous fluctuations (cold and warm phases at different scales) that characterize the evolution of climate.
