resilience

A well-planned and organized way of carrying out a series of actions and tasks aimed at protecting people from the impacts of climate change and, in general, from the contingencies caused by extreme meteorological phenomena and other high-impact natural phenomena, such as earthquakes or tsunamis. There are numerous success stories in some communities that have made the safety of their citizens a priority, even in developing or third-world countries, where economic resources are scarce. A good example of this are the protocols set in motion in Cuba - from the national level down to the local and neighborhood level - when the impact on the island of a hurricane is announced. The devastation in its wake can never be entirely avoided, but thanks to resilience, the number of victims is minimized, which without it could rise considerably.
