dry thunderstorm
A thunderstorm with negligible or no precipitation. This type of storm mainly occurs in places with great environmental dryness, when the air situated between the base of the storm cloud and the Earth's surface has a low moisture content, such that the curtains of rain or hail evaporate completely before reaching the ground, or at most only a few drops fall, as is commonly said.
