Convection

One of the ways heat is transmitted in nature, which in Meteorology we identify with the vertical transport of heat and other properties of air masses, such as water vapor or momentum, in the atmosphere. It involves the displacement of large volumes of air and is a fundamental mechanism in the vertical exchange of the aforementioned properties within the troposphere. Convection occurs preferentially over ground previously heated by the sun, over which rising currents of warm air are generated that may or may not culminate in the formation of vertically developed clouds, also called convective clouds.
