forecast (meteorological)
A judgment issued by a forecaster on the future evolution of the atmosphere, normally supported by different numerical prediction models and meteorological observations of various types (station data, radiosoundings, satellite, radar...). Although it is common to consider forecast and prediction as synonyms, in Meteorology they are not strictly the same, since the latter does not require human intervention for its production (leaving aside the development of modeling and the tasks involved in running the models), which does occur with the forecast.
