meteorological phenomenon

A generic term referring to any phenomenon occurring in the atmosphere, catalogued under that designation. In Meteorology, all meteors, except clouds (a particular case of hydrometeor), are considered meteorological phenomena, as are storms, tornadoes, and waterspouts. A wind gust, a temperature spike, or a sharp drop in atmospheric pressure is not considered as such.
