graupel / soft hail
A small granule of white ice, of rough surface and mainly conical shape, also known as soft hail, whose diameter is between 2 and 5 mm. It is the result of the accretion of ice with supercooled water drops. It is a type of granular snow with an appearance reminiscent of coarse salt. It is usually identified with cellisca, although they present some differentiating features, such as the type of ice.
