Cirrocumulus (Cc)
A cloud genus belonging to the high-cloud family, appearing in the sky forming a bank, thin layer, or sheet of white clouds, which do not generate shadows, composed of a fairly regular distribution of small globular elements. These may or may not be fused together and their angular diameter is less than one arc-degree. The apparent size (seen from the Earth's surface) of these cloud elements is significantly smaller than the granular texture of altocumulus, which helps with identification. The Atlas Internacional de Nubes of the WMO establishes four different species for them (stratiformis, lenticularis, castellanus and floccus) and two varieties (undulatus and lacunosus).
