A cold, dry, and impetuous northwest wind that, coming from Russia and after crossing the Balkans, descends to the coasts of Dalmatia and the Adriatic Sea. It blows mainly in winter, reaching high speeds, with very violent gusts. Although it is a regional wind, its name also designates similar katabatic winds that blow in other places around the world.
