dew

A hydrometeor consisting of a deposit of small water droplets that forms on a surface, as a consequence of nighttime cooling. The drop in temperature below the dew point, due to the heat loss by radiation that takes place near the ground during the night, promotes the condensation of water vapor and the formation of the droplets. Dew forms preferentially on vegetation located at ground level (grass, shrubs...), due to the extra water vapor they contribute to the surrounding air, thanks to evapotranspiration.
