IFR

An acronym for Instrumental Flight Rules. Under this acronym, Aeronautics knows the set of rules and procedures that govern the flight of aircraft without needing to have visual contact with the terrain (VFR). Air navigation relying solely on the reading of flight instruments is only possible when meteorological conditions are adequate for it. In the case of commercial aviation, pilots usually fly routinely under instrument rules, provided visibility allows it.
